Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) 3rd District officers conducted a traffic stop in the 8600 block of Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring on Tuesday evening.
According to MCPD 3rd District Commander Jason Cokinos, officers conducted a traffic stop when one of the occupants grabbed a backpack from the vehicle and ran. Officers gave chase and quickly apprehended the individual. Inside the backpack, they found a loaded handgun, drugs, and cash. The adult suspect was taken into custody and transported to central processing for booking.
