MPD: Victim struck repeatedly in head during assault at Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter Metro Station

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Police in the District are working to identify a person who was accused of hitting someone in the head repeatedly, causing them to lose consciousness, at the Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter Metro Station.

The assault took place during Halloween weekend after a group of people approached a person exiting a train.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) detailed that it all happened just before 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 1 when a group of people began making fun of another’s Halloween costume. As the incident escalated, one person approached the victim from behind and started hitting them repeatedly in the back of the head, knocking them unconscious.

The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries…
