Potomac High School celebrates installation of new crosswalks, other pedestrian safety measures

Members of Potomac High School’s parent, teacher, student organization held a ribbon-cutting ceremony recently to celebrate the installation of three new crosswalks, a sidewalk, enhanced lighting and pedestrian signage.

The pedestrian safety project was three years in the making and involved collaboration between parents, school staff, the school division and county officials.

The project first began when Makya Little’s son transferred from Colgan High School to Potomac in 2021. Little was alarmed when a student stepped into the road, causing her to “slam” on her breaks to avoid hitting the student…
