Teen arrested for shooting near Howard University that left 5 hurt

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A 17-year-old boy was arrested Friday in connection with a shooting near the Howard University campus that left five people hurt, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced.

Police said Kaevaughn Dudley, of Northeast D.C., was charged with assault with intent to kill (gun) and will be tried as an adult.

On Friday, Oct. 24, shortly before 8:30 p.m., officers patrolling near Howard University heard shots fired in the 600 block of Howard Place, NW. The incident took place during the school’s annual week-long homecoming celebration.
