Man sentenced 18 years for armed carjacking at St. Charles High

A 21-year-old man was sentenced to 18 years in prison for armed carjacking, armed robbery, two counts of first-degree assault, four counts of use of a firearm and related charges from an incident outside of a local high school, the Charles state’s attorney’s office announced.

Martino Marcus Young of Washington, D.C., was sentenced Oct. 31 by Charles County Circuit Court Judge William R. Greer Jr. Young will be on supervised probation after his release for five years. If he violates the terms of his probation, he faces an additional 30 years in prison.

On March 6, 2024, officers with the Charles sheriff’s office responded to St. Charles High School for the report of an armed subject, prosecutors said.
