Man in Maryland jail accused of asking girlfriends to kidnap, stab DC woman

WASHINGTON, D.C. (7News) — For months, investigators said that 20-year-old Kayvon Edwards planned a kidnapping and stabbing of a woman in D.C., all while he was locked up in Prince George’s County.

The plan was to stop the victim from showing up to the court hearing on a rape case against him. 7News dug into this case and discovered that the man had the mother of his child and another possible lover carry out the botched plan, according to investigators.

Court records revealed the original plan was to kill the victim, but she had a friend with her. The two suspects then planned to kidnap and drop her off in Pennsylvania so she couldn’t make it to court in Maryland the following day, records show. However, one of the suspects was such a bad driver that she got a flat and ended up dropping the victims off in D.C., according to the documents…
