Fleeing driver strikes police officer, escapes at Prince William-Fairfax line

Police are searching for a man who struck a Prince William County police officer Monday afternoon before getting away on U.S. 1 in Woodbridge.

At 3:37 p.m., officers attempted to stop a black Infiniti sedan in the 14500 block of Richmond Highway in Woodbridge for a stolen license plate, said Prince William County police Lt. Jonathan Perok.

“As officers approached the vehicle, the driver reversed and struck another vehicle before continuing backward and striking an officer as they stood nearby,” Perok said…
