WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — For the first time, the D.C. Department of Corrections opened its doors to a new kind of holiday celebration, a Thanksgiving dinner shared between incarcerated parents and their children.
The event, called “Thanksgiving on the Inside,” brought 40 parents together with their families for an in-person reunion filled with emotion, gratitude and healing.
