Maryland felon sentenced to 55 months for unlawful firearm possession in Southeast DC

WASHINGTON (7News) — A 31-year-old Maryland resident and previously convicted felon has been sentenced to 55 months in prison for illegal possession of a loaded Glock 27 pistol.

The sentencing, announced by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro, took place on Nov. 24 in U.S. District Court.

Anthony Eugene Burns was found guilty by a federal jury on Sept. 10 of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. In addition to his prison term, Judge Jia M. Cobb ordered Burns to serve three years of supervised release…
