Police: Part of King Street closed to traffic after vehicle crashes, damages electrical pole in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (DC News Now) — A single-vehicle crash left part of King Street closed to traffic early Sunday morning, according to Alexandria police.

Details remain limited; however, in a post shared to social media shortly after 3 a.m., the Alexandria Police Department said the crash damaged an electrical pole in the area, prompting crews to halt traffic on King Street from the 4700 to 5000 block.

“Crews are on scene. Please avoid the area and use alternate routes,” the police department wrote in the social media post.
