Alexandria Resident Charged With Assault on Officer During Arlington Traffic Stop

Arlington Police’s December 11 Daily Crime Report highlights recent incidents. Veyonce Smith, 22, of Alexandria, Va., was arrested and charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer during a traffic stop.

During a traffic stop on the 2800 block of S. Quincy Street, Smith allegedly struck an officer after refusing commands, according to the Arlington County crime report. No injuries were reported. The report also noted a burglary on the 4500 block of 31st Street S. between Dec. 9 and 10, where suspects forced entry, caused damage, and fled before police arrived.

An unlawful entry occurred on the 1000 block of N. Taylor Street. A thin, approximately 50-year-old Black male in a black jacket, black joggers, and white sneakers forced entry into a secured residential building. He fled the scene, and the investigation is ongoing…
