Student suffers minor hand injury in stabbing at Wheaton High, police say

A Wheaton High School student suffered a “minor laceration” to his hand after he was stabbed Wednesday afternoon during an altercation with another student, Montgomery County police said Wednesday evening on social media.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the Silver Spring school located at 12401 Dalewood Drive at roughly 1:15 p.m. for the report of a stabbing. A preliminary report found that two male students were involved in an altercation and one student received a minor hand laceration. The injured student was not transported to a local hospital, police said.
