DC first responders rescue man from Anacostia River

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A man was hospitalized after being rescued from the Anacostia River by first responders on Sunday, according to the DC Fire and EMS Department.

In a post to the X platform at 4:15 p.m., crews responded to reports of a man being trapped in the Anacostia River underneath the Sousa Bridge SE.

Man arrested, 2 sought in Southwest DC armed robbery

There, rescue swimmers found the man standing in shallow water up to his chest and brought him to shore.

He was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries…
