WASHINGTON (7News) — Months after a fire at The Gardens at Wingate Apartments in Southwest D.C. left more than 100 residents homeless, questions are being raised about whether the tragedy could have been prevented.
An investigation by 7News uncovered more than 100 safety and health code violations at the complex, including unsafe electrical wiring and inadequate fire safety equipment.
