Truck Theft Trail: Deputies Track Stolen F-250 Through Calvert County

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — A Brandywine man was arrested in Calvert County after deputies located a stolen pickup truck valued at tens of thousands of dollars, leading to multiple felony theft charges, according to charging documents.

Court records identify the defendant as Bernard James McCoy III, 46, of Brandywine. The arrest occurred Dec. 15, 2025, after a Calvert County Sheriff’s deputy received a license plate reader alert for a stolen 2025 Ford F-250 traveling through the county.

According to the statement of probable cause, the truck was detected near Cove Point Road in Lusby and later located traveling northbound on Solomons Island Road in the Prince Frederick area.
