PlayDC hit with cease-and-desist order just days after 7News uncovered license violations

WASHINGTON (7News) — Controversial District club PlayDC has been hit with a cease-and-desist order.

This legal action comes just days since 7News spoke with community members who were outraged that the club had opened back up after having its liquor license revoked.

The Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection notice was dated December 31. It claims the club has “engaged in a violation(s) of District law that has/have caused or may cause immediate and irreparable harm to the public” by operating as a restaurant and public hall without a business license.
