Northeast DC home struck by vehicle, residents evacuate safely

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Crews were called to a house in Northeast D.C. on Sunday morning after a vehicle crashed into the home, officials said.

In a post on X just after 9:15 a.m., the DC Fire and EMS Department said units were responding to a one-story house near the Maryland- D.C. line, in the 700 block of Eastern Avenue NE, after a vehicle struck the home.

Officials noted that the occupants inside the vehicle fled the scene.

Responders were working to evacuate the residents from the house, which sustained damage to its foundation. Fortunately, no one was injured.
