SPRINGFIELD, Va. (DC News Now) — A man was arrested in Springfield for illegally possessing a firearm, according to police.
On Jan. 1, at around 1:30 p.m., officers with the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) and Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department personnel responded to the 7000 block of Old Keene Mill Rd. for reports of an unconscious person.
Officers found the person and approached them to find a gun tucked between his legs. Police safely removed the gun.
The person, identified as 22-year-old Junior Calix, is a convicted felon due to a manslaughter conviction in 2023, FCPD said. He is prohibited from having guns or ammunition…
