Virginia Trooper Hurt After Police Chase Ends In Rollover Crash On I-495 In Alexandria: VSP

The crash happened shortly after 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 4, on I-495 near Eisenhower Avenue, when a trooper attempted to stop a vehicle for reckless driving, according to Virginia State Police.

Police said the driver of a Honda Accord refused to stop, prompting a pursuit along the Beltway. During the chase, the suspect vehicle moved from the second lane toward the Van Dorn Street exit, police said.

State Police said the trooper quickly terminated the pursuit to avoid striking a third, uninvolved vehicle. When the pursuit ended, the police vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree, and rolled over once, authorities said…
