WATCH: Monks on peace walk pass through Saluda, make way toward Columbia

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – A group of Buddhist monks who are traveling from Texas to Washington, D.C. on a walk for peace is now beginning to make their way toward Columbia.

The monks are walking down Highway 378 in Saluda County, where they’re scheduled to make a lunchtime stop in Saluda on Thursday. The group will then continue down the highway and stop outside Batesburg-Leesville for the night.

According to a Facebook update from the group, they said they expect to be in Columbia by Saturday, but noted that their time and route could change depending on the weather or other unplanned circumstances…
