Report shows dozens of near-miss crash incidents involving children in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (DC News Now) — A new report from Northern Virginia Families for Safe Roadsis raising concerns about pedestrian safety after documenting dozens of near-miss incidents involving children across Northern Virginia, including Alexandria.

According to the report, 155 near-miss incidents involving children were reported in Alexandria between January 2024 and December 2025, with several intersections standing out as trouble spots.

The intersection of Hickory Street and Kennedy Street had the highest number of reports, with 53 incidents logged.
