WALDORF, Md. — Multiple people were treated Saturday evening after a strong chemical odor forced customers out of a Golden Corral restaurant along Crain Highway in Waldorf, prompting a hazardous materials response.
The incident occurred Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, around 6:30 p.m. at the Golden Corral in the 2800 block of Crain Highway, where callers reported a sudden chemical smell inside the one-story restaurant. Witnesses told dispatchers a white, mist-like vapor entered the dining area, causing customers to experience difficulty breathing and choking.
