WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — D.C. leaders are looking for volunteers to be “snow team heroes.”
Volunteers are paired with senior residents and those with disabilities in their neighborhood to assist with snow removal from sidewalks and driveways.
“We’ve got our neighbors that need to get doctors’ appointments, grocery stores, they’ve got critical needs and so they are very, very grateful for this complementary and volunteer service,” said Dominque A. Scott, director of Serve DC.
