‘Stay off the roads:’ Virginia State Police respond to 440 crashes during winter storm

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (7News) — Virginia State Police (VSP) said the weekend winter storm has led to hundreds of crashes across the Commonwealth, prompting officials to urge drivers to stay off the roads.

As of 4 a.m. Monday, the Virginia State Police responded to 440 crashes statewide. Thirty-four of those crashes involved injuries.

Police also confirmed one fatal crash in Fairfax County; however, VSP said the weather is not being considered a factor in that crash…
