Northern Virginia residents face icy roads days after winter storm

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (DC News Now) — Neighborhoods across Northern Virginia are still working to dig their cars out days after Sunday’s winter storm, as freezing temperatures continue to refreeze roads.

Many residents have spent several days digging and shoveling to get their cars back on the roads, only to face new challenges with freezing temperatures and concerns of black ice.

“You feel like there is no ice, but it’s actually slippery. So, I felt like I was just driving way below the speed limit, just to be sure,” Farida Mansurova said.
