FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — Two people were arrested after two marked police cruisers were struck during a traffic stop on Jan. 23, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
Police said an officer was conducting a traffic stop around 4 a.m. on I-495 in Annandale near Little River Turnpike after spotting a suspected drunk driver.
As the driver, Marlon Somoza Quinonez, 23, was taking a field sobriety test, a separate vehicle hit two marked police cruisers parked on the shoulder. No one was hurt during the crash.
According to police, the driver of the striking vehicle, Edwin Guzman Aguilar, 21, was also found to have been driving under the influence.
