WALDORF, Md. — Four people were taken to area hospitals following a serious crash on Sunday that required multiple vehicle extrications and shut down a portion of Crain Highway near Vernon Road.
The crash was reported at approximately 12:09 a.m. Feb. 1, 2026, and involved at least two vehicles, including a red pickup truck and a Nissan Altima. One vehicle went over an embankment, trapping an occupant inside, while another sustained heavy damage that left a person pinned on the passenger side.
Firefighters and rescue crews established separate extrication operations as initial reports suggested one occupant might not be breathing.
