WALDORF, Md. — For generations of Southern Maryland families, Lefty’s Barbecue was more than a place to grab a meal — it was part of the community. That chapter came to a close as the longtime Waldorf restaurant announced it has permanently closed after more than three decades.
The family announced the news in a message to the community, writing, “We share the bittersweet news that Lefty’s Barbecue has permanently closed.”
Lefty’s Barbecue legacy began in 1989, starting out in a small roadside trailer before growing into a well-known Waldorf barbecue spot.
