Federal officials announced on Tuesday, Feb. 3, that Edwin Antonio Hernandez Hernandez, 27, of El Salvador, was taken into custody in Alexandria after US Citizenship and Immigration Services flagged his extensive criminal history during a routine appointment.
DHS officials said Hernandez illegally entered the US in 2015 as an unaccompanied minor and was ordered removed by an immigration judge in 2017.
While in custody, authorities say Hernandez admitted to being a member of MS-13 and confessed to killing five people in El Salvador through shooting, torturing, stabbing, and dismemberment…
