Massive crowds expected for inaugural DC Freedom 250 Grand Prix

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The inaugural Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington, D.C. is expected to draw massive crowds to the District when racing takes place around the National Mall Aug. 21 through 23.

“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us at Monumental (Sports and Entertainment). It was something that we couldn’t pass up,” said Jim Van Stone, president of business operations and chief commercial officer.

Crowds of at least 200,000 people are expected to line the streets for the free event. That should mean big bucks for the local economy…
