WASHINGTON — Three women are facing charges after police say they staged a kidnapping in order to extort a ransom from a friend last December.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 1900 block of Massachusetts Ave. SE, on Dec. 4, 2025, to investigate a kidnapping.
Investigators say a woman had received photos of her friend bound and gagged by someone demanding a ransom in exchange for a safe release. Police did not say how much the kidnappers were demanding…
