WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Three people are facing charges after they were accused of staging a kidnapping in Washington, D.C., in an attempt to extort a person out of money, detailed police.
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced Monday that a third person, 34-year-old Asia Coy of Silver Spring, Md. has been arrested in connection with the extortion case.
The investigation began in early December 2025.
