LORTON, Va. — A popular boathouse along the Occoquan River caught fire early Monday Morning.
According to a spokesperson from Fairfax County Fire and Rescue, crews were dispatched to the Fairfax Yacht Club on Old Colchester Road in Lorton, Virginia at 1:15 a.m. When they arrived they found a boathouse fully engulfed in flames, with fire extending into the nearby brush. At around 3:00 a.m., Public Information Officer Mitch Clark told WUSA9 that the fire was out and crews were beginning to clear out to allow investigators to get on scene.
