WASHINGTON (7News) — D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser announced on Tuesday that celebrations for Second Chance Month will begin on April 1.
Second Chance Month highlights the challenges faced by formerly incarcerated people and provides ways to strengthen pathways to successful re-entry into society.
“When our returning citizens thrive, our city is stronger,” said Bowser. “Through the READY Center, through MORCA, and through the many dedicated partners who show up every day to create meaningful second chances for D.C. residents, we are giving more Washingtonians the opportunities they need to succeed and to help our communities succeed.”…
