A 64-year-old White Plains man was killed Friday night after a car ran a red light and slammed into his motorcycle at a Waldorf intersection before the car’s occupants fled, Maryland State Police said.
Troopers from the Maryland State Police La Plata barrack and deputies from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded around 7:49 p.m. to Maryland Route 228 (Berry Road) at Bunker Hill Road for the crash.
A preliminary investigation by troopers and the crash team found that a 2008 Infiniti G35, described by witnesses as occupied by multiple males, was headed east on Route 228 approaching a steady red traffic signal. At the same time, a 2018 Harley-Davidson motorcycle ridden by Scott Beland was making a left turn from westbound Route 228 onto Bunker Hill Road on a steady green left-turn signal, police said…
