Juvenile violence continues to plague DC

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department arrested eight juveniles in connection with multiple fights in Southwest Saturday night.

Police responded to two brawls outside the King Greenleaf Recreation Center within 20 minutes of each other. The center hosted a ‘Teen Spring Jam,’ a city-sponsored event aimed at giving kids a safe space.

Police said they arrested a 15-year-old boy from Northeast, D.C., when he ignored multiple commands to leave and attacked an officer. He’s charged him with assault on a police officer.
