Jamaican drug dealer in DC deported 5 times, sentenced to decade in federal prison

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A Jamaican man who sold drugs in the Southeast D.C. community was sentenced to a decade in prison.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia said Damion Alexander Peddie was previously convicted of multiple drug trafficking offenses and deported at least five times. On April 1, a judge sentenced Peddie to 122 months in federal prison in connection with possessing a cache of weapons and drugs and reentering the United States illegally.

Court documents detailed that in the summer of 2024, FBI agents initiated a long-term investigation of a drug trafficking conspiracy that was centered around the 2900 block of Knox Place SE. During the investigation, authorities identified an alleged fentanyl and PCP trafficking operation with a stash house on Knox Place.
