‘Insufficient ventilation’: Reports offer more details into dog dying inside parked car in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A dog that died after it was left inside a parked car in Myrtle Beach earlier this week was bleeding from the mouth and unable to stand when police arrived, according to an incident report obtained by News13.

Jailah Bryonna Cooperwood, 23, of Long Beach, California, and William Anthony Clark Jr., 23, of District Heights, Maryland, have both been charged with ill-treatment of animals. Both were booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Tuesday, where they remain as of this writing held on a $40,000 bond.

An officer responded just before 5 p.m. Monday to the area of 16th Avenue N. and Legion Street for a report of animal cruelty and neglect, according to the report. The officer found a bully breed dog, about 65-70 lbs., panting heavily, struggling to breathe, lethargic, unable to stand, and bleeding from the mouth with “evacuated bowels indicating potential internal organ failures.”…
