US Attorney Pirro wants DC student truancy records to get to the bottom of teen takeovers and the fight at Chipotle

WASHINGTON — The D.C. Chancellor of Public Schools said he has not received a request from U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro to obtain student records that she said could help in the investigation into a fight inside a Navy Yard Chipotle.

Along with the FBI, Pirro held a news conference on Monday to discuss the brawl that happened Saturday involving several young people. A video of the brawl shared online quickly gained traction and has intensified the political battle over the District’s youth curfew.

Pirro said Monday she would be reaching out to D.C. Police and to D.C. Public Schools (DCPS) to request the information of the teens who are chronically truant and violating the youth curfew. She said that information is helpful to determine who is getting involved in teen takeovers and could help investigators identify those involved in Saturday’s fight…
