WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A Springfield man is facing serious criminal charges after Prince William County Police determined that his alleged assault on a woman was a hate crime.
The investigation began after law enforcement responded to Stream Drive in Woodbridge.
Police say the man approached the victim — a 35-year-old woman — at a bus stop. The man, later identified as 30-year-old Zohaib Jamil Ahmad, questioned the woman’s religion and what police called “global events.”…
