Run-in with teeny-tiny ticks in Pa. serves as reminder of threat they pose | From The Trailhead

It was twilight May 27 as our dog Jerry and I descended a trail on South Mountain in Lehigh County, just south of Allentown.

The path flattened out into a darkening patch of rocky woods under a dense canopy of leaves, and evening birds were singing all around. Jer stopped. I stopped. A couple of deer fled away from us as we stood and looked and listened. I was hoping to hear an owl.

That’s probably where he picked up the ticks…
