ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Nature brought its own fireworks this Fourth of July weekend.
Lightning flashed over the mountains Saturday night just as Allentown’s fireworks show was getting underway at Cedar Beach Park. While spectators were forced to clear out of the park to stay safe, the display still went on as planned.
The severe weather packed a punch across the region, leaving thousands of people without power. In Lehigh County, more than 6,000 PPL customers lost electricity, while 3,666 Met-Ed customers in Berks County were left in the dark…
