One week after a devastating house explosion in Hilltown Township left construction worker Steve Harmon critically injured, his family says he remains hospitalized on a ventilator as doctors work to overcome new complications in his recovery.
In an update shared Sunday through the family’s online fundraiser, relatives said Harmon remains intubated in the burn unit after developing pneumonia while continuing treatment for injuries suffered in the June 29 explosion.
“Steven remains intubated as of this evening,” the family wrote. “They have been able to clear liquid from his lungs and recently discovered that Steve has developed pneumonia. The doctors are assessing daily whether his lungs are strong enough to remove the ventilator.”…
