DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (WPHL) — A Bucks County Deputy Sheriff is facing charges after allegedly taking and sharing pictures of naked prisoners while in custody, and attempting to cover up his actions, Bucks County District Attorney Joe Khan announced on Monday.
The charges came to light after the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint regarding Deputy Sheriff Ryan Gaffney’s conduct. Bucks County Detectives launched the investigation on March 31. According to DA Khan, Gaffney was charged Monday morning and was terminated last month.
On January 30, Gaffney and four other uniformed deputies executed an arrest warrant at a home in Middletown Township, where an adult male was suffering from a mental health crisis in a bedroom. While the male was attempting to clothe himself, Gaffney covered his body camera to obstruct the recording.
