A 15-year-old admitted Wednesday, July 22, to setting the massive six-alarm fire that tore through a commercial building, destroyed multiple properties and vehicles, forced residents from their homes, and knocked out power to thousands in Allentown the previous month.
The juvenile admitted to charges of arson and causing a catastrophe during a hearing before Judge James T. Anthony, according to Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan. The teen will be held in a juvenile treatment facility that specializes in treating fire setters. Restitution has not yet been determined.
