A pair of Philadelphia attorneys blame Lehigh County Jail and its health care provider for failing to prevent the jail’s fifth inmate suicide in the past four years.
They represent the estate of 31-year-old Forest Touchberry, who died by suicide in the jail on March 6, 2025, the lawsuit says.
Guards should have known he intended to kill himself when he hung a bedsheet over his window, the suit says. The jail put Touchberry on lockdown but failed to check his cell within the mandatory 30-minute window, the suit says.
