Abington man sent to prison for 4 armed holdups at gas stations

NORRISTOWN — An Abington Township man awaiting trial for allegedly kidnapping and robbing a Springfield Township woman in June was sentenced to up to 16 years in prison for previous armed robberies at four gas stations in Montgomery and Bucks counties and Philadelphia.

“These are really horrifying offenses for those who are the victims,” Montgomery County Judge Risa Vetri Ferman said as she sentenced Michael Charles Gordon to 8 to 16 years in a state correctional facility in connection with the four gas station holdups that occurred between May and June 2025.

Citing Gordon’s criminal history that included crimes while he was a juvenile and an adult, Ferman added, “There is a history of crimes of violence. All of that is troubling to the court. The defendant is likely to commit another crime if released.”…
