NORTHAMPTON, Pa.- In addition to preparing for the upcoming school year, the Northampton Area School District spent the summer unloading some properties it no longer needs.
As 69 News reported in May, in the wake of a budget deficit, the district’s board of school directors voted to sell four properties that would not be in use for the 2026-2027 school year:
- Moore Elementary School at 2835 Mountain View Dr. outside Bath in Moore Township.
- Franklin Elementary School at 855 Lincoln Ave. in Northampton.
- Washington Technology Center at 2389 Main St. in Northampton.
- The former district administration building at 2014 Laubach Ave. in Northampton.
Now, Northampton Superintendent Joseph Kovalchik tells 69 News that the district has sale agreements in place for all of the properties, with the exception of the tech center.
Both Moore Elementary and Franklin Elementary are being sold for the district’s asking price, $3.4 million and $1.025 million, respectively, Kovalchik said…
