Lehigh Valley weather: Severe thunderstorms expected, with damaging winds and hail threat

Scattered severe thunderstorms are forecast to develop late Tuesday afternoon and evening across eastern Pennsylvania and most of New Jersey, including the Lehigh Valley.

The greatest risk is between 5 p.m. and midnight, according to the National Weather Service, though isolated storms could develop earlier. Damaging wind gusts and large hail pose the primary threats, with an isolated tornado also possible.
