The Easton Farmers’ Market celebrated its fifth consecutive year of its Funky Ferments Fest, bringing “all things fermented, foraged and pickled” to the forefront of Easton’s local community on Saturday.
“It’s so fun to see everyone get so excited to really connect with their food,” said Sarah Sunshine Hinsch, a volunteer at the farmers market, who led a sauerkraut-making station that let participants chop cabbage to take home in small mason jars.
Aside from demonstrations, the festival also featured multiple speakers presenting topics ranging from cheese creation to cooking with fungi. Christina Check presented about her hobby as an “amateur mycologist” who forages for fungi and shares her photos on her Instagram @deathcap4cutie…
